[ Tokiya rarely slept before midnight, so he was up fiddling with his phone, trying to see if he could re-establish any sort of coherent network. Kotori's outburst was therefore very distracting, especially with how she was reacting to whatever was on her phone. ]

What is it?

[ He doesn't even look at her, but it should be evident from his voice that he is a little more annoyed than usual. ]

I-I-Ichinose-san...I-I...

_{[ Kotori shook her head back and forth quickly since she!! Wasn't really sure what was going on just yet but...she had been asked out?? And then a lot of people were there and talking to her now?! ]}

Mikoto-kun...I...I don't know...I'm confused! I think he just asked me o-on a...date....

[ He still doesn't look up, having finally noticed the public message being broadcasted... ]

[ And finally, when it becomes evident that his expression has changed - ]

Mikoto-kun! He's one of my friends here...He was really sweet to me the first day I got here--eh?!

[ Tokiya doesn't reply immediately, scrolling through the other responses as they came through. In fact, he doesn't speak for a good five minutes, though his response to the matter should already be evident with how dark his expression has become.

Kotori is free to continue texting - in fact, he doesn't continue the conversation until a good amount of texts have been exchanged. When he finally does, it's prefaced by a very deep sigh. ]

Do you understand the implicit meaning of the word 'pants' in what they are talking about?

_{[ Kotori thinks she can multitask pretty well, so she would talk while she continued to text, thus resulting in a ton of typos, more so than usual and not just because her hands were shaking as well.

Though obviously, she was interrupted by her texting spree because Tokiya spoke up about pants and such. Here we go... ]}

Eh? Oh...Vanilly-san and Gintoki-san talked to me about that. They're silly when it comes to guys' pants but... I know they told me to be careful since stuff like in the movies can happen! _{[ ??? ]}

[ There is quite the long pause as he tries to figure out what she could possibly mean.

[ The awkward pause continues. The fact that they're both sort of half-dancing around the subject doesn't help at all. ]

_{[ Honestly, Milly and Gintoki were a bit vague or well, Kotori was naive enough to not understand the total meaning of what they said, not to mention no one wants to ruin the bird's innocence by having this talk.

_{[ Kotori smiled a little, still looking at her phone and typing away. She knew it would be best to hopefully talk to Mikoto himself tomorrow, but there was just so much going on right now that she would feel like she understood and then get confused again. ]}

[ Then he's very obviously Not Sane right now. ]

I suggest you hold off on making any sort of decision until he gets his sanity back.

_{[ Kotori tilted her head and looked confused again, knowing that Tokiya was right but it wasn't like he...wasn't totally not sane! Mikoto kind of knew what he was doing--right? Or...sort of. ]}

[ To that, Tokiya just sighs again. ]

I believe he was. But he did not completely think the decision through, evidently.

[ Thus causing this whole mess in the first place. ]

You can always turn him down, or tell him to wait. He has no grounds to force you to go with him.

Eh? _{[ Kotori glanced downward again since Tokiya was right--Mikoto didn't seem to think the decision through properly before asking her out...so maybe he never intended to in the first place? But he did...but maybe he wasn't thinking well enough to realize what was going through his mind? ]}

I'm confused... Everyone seemed to get that it was for me but...I think you're right and maybe he didn't mean to...right now, at least! Um...He's not forcing me--don't worry!

_{[ She's just confused and doesn't know what to think about this situation. ]}

[ Honestly, he's a little worried. Kotori has her heart in the best place, but sometimes her head couldn't quite catch the multiple layers of meaning that can often come with words. ]

I suggest you wait until he gets sober to ask him about this again. Whatever he says right now would probably not make sense.

_{[ Kotori smiled and nodded, happy that Tokiya suggested what a few others seemed to have since Mikoto really needed his rest right now! ]}

_{[ But there was still the issue at hand...What was she to do when he contacted her and talked about it since she still didn't know if he was totally serious or just...throwing random things out there because he was intoxicated. ]}

If he does not know how to take other people's feelings seriously, then you should ditch him.

People can take that statement in all the wrong ways, Minami-san.

It means you are easily pressured into doing things that you will possibly regret later. Even if not, you are giving too much of your time and energy to other people.

But...Ichinose-san, I really like seeing other people happy, so I do my best to try to make them as happy as possible! Is that bad...?
